A emergency order has been put in place covering Chalkwell Park, following intelligence about a large planned gathering tonight.
Police believe a meet has been arranged and was due to begin at about 7pm.
The dispersal order will run from 7pm tonight to 4am tomorrow morning and will cover London Road, Chalkwell Avenue, Leigh Road, Mount Avenue and Chalkwell Esplanade and the beach to the low water marker.
An Essex Police spokesman said: "The order has been put in place to reduce the likelihood of antisocial behaviour and to prevent any crime and disorder that might be associated with the event.
"Anyone who witnesses any incidents is asked to call 101. Please call 999 in an emergency."
