Echo:

Terry Farr

"He was the life of the party - able to light up any gathering with his quick wit, self-deprecating good humour and his general lust for life."

Clare Farr, Terry's wife said: "No words will be enough to express how much I love him. He was a kind, generous, charming, funny, selfless man.

"It is truly devastating to imagine my life without him. He was such a huge part of our family and our lives will never be the same again."

Terry's son, Sam, said: "I am extremely proud to call him my best friend and Dad. I love you forever."

Sergeant Alex Black, from Essex Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit, is continuing to investigate the crash and circumstances around Mr Farr's death.

He said: “Our thoughts are with Terry's family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.

"The teenage driver of the Mercedes is assisting with our investigation at this time. No arrests have been made.

"We are still urgently looking to speak to the driver of a silver saloon car, who was driving in front of the Mercedes shortly before the collision.

"This driver could be a key witness and have information that could be the missing piece of the puzzle."
