A teenager was robbed and threatened by two men armed with a knife down an alleyway in Southend.

The 16-year-old boy was approached by the pair down an alleyway between Short Street and Kenway, Southend, at 11.40am on Tuesday (July 7).

One man, who had a knife, proceeded to steal the teen's black Xiaomi eletric scooter, before riding it off towards Kenway.

His accomplice rode off on a black Carrera mountain bike. They were last seen turning into Sutton Road.

Police are now investigating the robbery and are looking to speak to witnesses, urging anyone who saw what happened to come forward.

A spokesperson from Essex Police, said: "We have been carrying out enquiries including reviewing CCTV. We are keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened, and anyone in the Short Street, Kenway and Sutton Road area who has CCTV footage or saw men matching the description of the suspects.

"The man with a knife was described as black, more than 6ft tall and of athletic build. He wore a black tracksuit and one white elastic glove. He wore a black du-rag over his head. 

"The second man, who was riding the mountain bike, was described as white, of slim build and had black hair. He wore a black puffa jacket.
