Firefighters are on scene of a fire at an industrial unit containing batteries in Basildon.
The crews were called to the incident in Paycocke Road at about 12.28pm today.
Four crews are on scene dealing with the blaze.
On arrival, crews reported that there was a fire inside the unit which contained several 20kg lithium batteries.
Firefighters worked to isolate the electric in the unit after entering the building wearing breathing apparatus and a fourth crew was requested to enter to isolate the gas supply.
The firefighters extinguished the fire by 2:15pm.
