Two teenage girls were sexually assaulted while sitting in Cassiobury Park.

Police have been told two teenage girls, who were relaxing in the Watford park, were approached at around 5.20pm on Tuesday (June 15).

Police say a man approached the girls and touched them inappropriately, before leaving the scene.

The victims reported the incident and police began making enquiries.

Investigating officers made one arrest yesterday - a 23-year-old man of Crouch End, north London.

He remains in police custody.

DC George Lewin, from the Watford local crime unit, said: “I’d like to thank all the officers who carried out the arrest for their swift and effective response.

“We have put safeguarding measures in place to support both victims as the investigation progresses.

“We take all reports of sexual assaults extremely seriously and we want victims to know that they will always be treated with kindness and respect.”
