PLANS to enlarge a house in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty have been rejected for the second time.
Ross Macildowie lodged an appeal after his application to build an extension to a semi-detached property in West Park Lane, Damerham, was turned down by New Forest District Council.
But government-appointed planning inspector Robert Parker has dismissed the appeal.
His report says: "The proposed extension would constitute a bulky and discordant feature which would be out of character with the host building and other dwellings in the vicinity.
"The extension would be most prominent from the open countryside to the rear of the site.
"Its design and scale would fail to respect the character and appearance of the area and the adverse impacts would not be adequately mitigated by the use of matching materials."
