A man has been arrested two months after a driver fled police and leaving behind drugs in his car.
When carrying out a stop check on a blue Audi Q3 back in February, the driver and passenger managed to escape from an officer, leaving drugs and the car behind.
On Saturday a driver was again pulled over and made his best attempts to run - this time, he was caught by the Community Policing Team in Benfleet.
A man was arrested for drug driving, possession of offensive weapons, possession of class B drugs and driving with a cracked windscreen.
He was also arrested for previous offences of possession of class B drugs and failing to co-operate with a preliminary test.
Police also seized £1,000 cash.
Essex Police have confirmed the man has been released under investigation pending the results of a blood test.
