POLICE have seized tens of thousands of cigarettes which they believe were brought into the country illegally.
The discovery was made by officers working in the Castle Point yesterday (Friday, May 1).
Members of the local policing team, town centre team and community policing team say they seized 92 'large' boxes which contained approximately 35,000 packs of cigarettes.
In a post issued on Facebook, the teams added: "It is believed that these items have been brought into the country illegally.
"Further enquires are on going to identify any suspects."
