IN case you had forgotten, this weekend is Easter.

Ordinarily, many people will have been planning a few days out or even a jaunt away in the search for some spring sunshine.

But that won't be the case this year. Easter 2020 will certainly be remembered for all the wrong reasons.

But... you will still be allowed into your gardens and, of course, on your one permitted outdoor exercise.

So let's take a look at what the weather has in store for south Essex.

Good Friday

Friday would appear to be the pick of the weekend at this stage.

Temperatures across south Essex look set to nudge towards 16°C in the afternoon.

The day could start of a tad cloudy but the Met OFfoce expects that to clear up in the early afternoon.

The sunshine - and relative warmth - should allow for a family barbecue on Friday evening if that's you plan.

Saturday

While temperatures will remain similar to Friday, the sunshine could be more short-lived as the Met Office predicts cloud will set in again from about 4pm.

Easter Sunday

Unfortunately, this looks like the day most-likely to bring some rain, especially in the afternoon.

The Met Office does, though, expect some bright spells to drift in and out as the afternoon progresses.

Tempertatures aren't expected to drop below 9°C and there may be highs of 13°C.

Easter Monday

The forecast for Monday appears a little unclear, given it is six days away.

We look set to see quite a bit of cloud but there could be some bright spells in the early afternoon and early evening.
