A TEACHER at a primary school in Benfleet is self-isolating as a precaution against the coronavirus.
Jotmans Hall Primary School, in High Road, Benfleet, sent a letter out to parents this morning.
Ms Warnes, headteacher at the school, said: "We can confirm that a member of staff is self-isolating following advice from NHS 111 in relation to coronavirus (covid-19).
"The staff member has not been tested but has been advised to follow the seven-day self-isolation guidance.
"I have sought advice from Publilc Health England and they have advised that there is no need for us to take any action.
"We will continue to be vigilant with cleanliness and in ensuriing we are aware of the symptoms and latest expert advice."
Ms Warnes added that the staff member is well and added she would update parents with any further information should the need arise.
