A “DRUG dealing factory” was uncovered by police after a raid on a property in Westcliff.

Officers descended on Tintern Avenue and uncovered a haul of drugs, weapons and cash.

Inside the property, police found a collection of class A and B drugs, a large scale cannabis farm, and a selection of Tasers and a can of CS spray - as well as what they believe to be imitation hand guns.

Investigating officers arrested two men, aged 28 and 29, from Westcliff for a host of offences.

The pair have now been released under investigation.

Shocked resident Rebecca Morgan, 44, said: “I couldn’t believe the pictures when they were posted online.

“You can tell this is a serious operation and it appears to be a large scale drug gang.

“It is just so shocking when this is all found so close to where you live. I know it is not the nicest area but you don’t expect to see that.”

A spokesman for the Southend community policing team said: “The Southend Proactive Team executed a warrant in Westcliff on Thursday and we uncovered what we can only describe as drug dealing factory.

“After securing one suspect on the day we later tracked down the second suspect on Friday night

“Both parties were arrested for multiple drug related offences and possession of Section 5 firearms (four Tasers and a can of CS Spray).

“We located large quantities of class A and B drugs, cash, weapons and a cannabis cultivation.”

The pair arrested have been released while police continue to investigated the premises.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: “Officers carried out a warrant at an address in Tintern Avenue, Westcliff on 16 January

“Drugs, weapons, and cash were recovered.

“Two men – aged 28 and 29 and both from Westcliff – have been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, cannabis production, and possession of firearms offences.

“They have both since been released under investigation.”
