A MAN from Falmouth has died in a crash on the A30.

The collision took place on the A30 at Lanivet in Bodmin yesterday, Wednesday, January1.

It involved two vehicles, a grey Citroen and an HGV, on the Westbound carriageway at around 6pm.

The driver of the Citroen, who was from Falmouth and aged in his 80s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

His next of kin have been informed.

The occupants of the HGV were uninjured.

Several other vehicles travelling on the eastbound carriageway were damaged due to debris from the collision.

The A30 was closed in both directions while a forensic examination of what police described as a "complex and extended collision scene" was conducted.

Officers from the Roads Policing Team attended are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the collision or have dash camera footage to contact police, quoting the log number 934 of January 1, 2020.
