A FRESH appeal for information has been made after a gun was fired in Southend.

The incident took place on November 26, where members of the public reported that two men had shown them a firearm which was concealed in one man’s waistband, near to Entice on Southchurch Road at around 9pm.

Police believe that this firearm was then discharged, following an argument involving the two men and another male, on York Road at around 9.20pm.

Two men, both described as being black and aged in their early to mid-20s, left the scene on foot.

One of the men was of stocky build and wore a dark-coloured coat with dark jogging bottoms.

The second is described as being of slim build and wore a grey hooded jumper and dark-coloured jogging bottoms.

In the early hours of the following day, Wednesday November 27, a man in his 20s presented himself at hospital.

He had a wound to his arm, which we believe was a gunshot wound.

A police spokesman said: "We are attempting to establish if this is linked to the earlier altercation in York Road, and would urge anyone with information to come forward.

"We appreciate that this is a concerning time for the public. Please be assured that our officers are working around the clock to progress this investigation and are carrying out numerous CCTV and forensic enquiries."
