A DISABLED man is at his wits end over a gang of teenagers who are “terrorising” him and other residents in his block.

The Oasis Court resident, who did not want to be named, said one of the teenagers in particular, was a resident at Oasis Court in Kenway, Southend.

He said: “The problems have been ongoing for the last year and Swan Housing has failed to take any formal action.

“I am now on medication for anxiety as the problem has got so bad.

“I am met with abuse if I try to challenge any of the behaviour. I have called social services several times.

“More recently, the teenager sat with a lighter at the flight of stairs in the communal landing, burning the walls and even spelled out the word ‘gay’. There has been repeated criminal damage to the communal hallways.

“They smoked drugs, make noise and argue.

“The main one who is targeting me and my wife has been arrested several times over her behaviour, including destroying our garden a few months back, yet she is still living here.”

Swan Housing Association confirmed it was aware of the problem and working to resolve the situation.

A spokesman said: “We take all reports of antisocial behaviour seriously and are aware of an antisocial behaviour at Oasis Court.

“Our officers are doing everything they can to work in close partnership with the police and social services to resolve the situation.

“We are committed to taking formal action wherever we have evidence.

“We urge all residents to continue to report any incidents directly to the police or our neighbourhood team on 0300 303 2500.

“We have reported the damage to our repairs partner.”

A spokesman for Southend Council, said: “We take all reports of anti-social behaviour very seriously and will always take the necessary steps to support any and all residents.

“Anyone with safeguarding concerns for someone 18 or under should contact our children’s services team on 01702 215007 selecting option one.”
