SOUTHEND United’s supporters vented their fury following yesterday’s shock 1-0 defeat at National League side Dover Athletic.
The Shrimpers sit second from bottom in League One having triumphed just once in 17 games.
And their season sunk to new depths following an FA Cup first round exit at Dover, who are 36 league places below Blues.
Furious Southend fans chanted ‘you’re not fit to wear the shirt’ in the direction of the players at the final whistle.
And Andy Moorhouse - who has been watching Blues for more than 30 years - felt there was more anger than ever before from the supporters.
He said: “I’ve never known such anger as there was in the away end. It’s just so, so bad.
"There’s a lack of character and fight.
"Walking out of the ground fans were saying they are going to stop going to games and they sounded serious.
"There's something fundamentally rotten at the club and it seemed to boil over on Sunday."
