England last made the world cup final in 2007 - ironically also against the ultimately victorious Springboks.

Steve Gage, 58, general manager of the Beehive pub, in Southernhay, Basildon said he’s expecting dozens of people through the door tomorrow morning.

He said: “We will be open from 9am and are already getting all the flags and decorations out for the event.

“Our prices will not go up and we have our usual prices of two bottles of ciders for £7 and other deals.

“We have six big screens and will be showing the game on all of them.

“I think it will be a good turn out; we’ve had about 30 or 40 people so far for other games and we could have double that on Saturday.

“It’s also good for business when England do so well in sports.”

The team at The Monico pub, in Eastern Esplanade, Canvey, are offering a free breakfast with every drink purchased on Saturday morning.

Suzanne Gray, 51, pub owner said they are also expecting a good turn out.

She said: “We have got all the flags and bunting ready for the match.

“Our family are big rugby fans and make the whole pub sing the national anthem as we are also huge royalists.

“We have got the big screens for our customers to enjoy the game.”

Staff at The Alex pub, in Alexandra Street, Southend, have been taking bookings for the game.

Sarah Gage, 29, pub manager said: “We will be open from 8.45am and have got bookings for about 20 people so far.

“These events are massive for us in terms of trade and business and we hope for a big crowd, we can take about 300.”
