A crash on the A127 caused two hours of delays last night.

The accident is believed to have happened at roughly 9pm last night on the London bound carriageway.

The crash, believed to involve several cars, happened just before the Noak Bridge turn off for Basildon town centre and Billericay.

THIS IS WHY TRAFFIC WAS AT A STANDSTILL ON THE A127 LAST NIGHT

The traffic began to clear at roughly 11pm last night after more than two miles of queues built.

Drivers were reportedly spotted getting out of their cars at the scene after traffic was completely halted.

Essex Police and the East of England Ambulance Service have been approached for comment.
