POLICE are appealing for the identification of two men after three tool thefts in recent weeks.

The force issued CCTV images of the two men that they would like to speak to in connection with the tool thefts in Billericay.

It is reported that the tools stolen add up to over £2000.

A spokesperson from Essex Police, said: "Do you recognise these men?

"We'd like to speak to them in connection with three reports of tool thefts from vans in the Crays Hill area of Billericay between Thursday September 5 and Tuesday September 17.

"It was reported that between 2pm and 3pm on Thursday September 5, a chainsaw was stolen from a white Ford Transit van parked on Wash Road.

"Between 1.40pm and 1.50pm on Wednesday 6 September it was reported that a number of tools had been stolen from a blue Ford Transit van in Crays Hill.

"It was also reported that on Tuesday 17 September a number of tools were stolen from a van on Hope Road.

"Anyone with information about the identity of the two men or if you have seen any suspicious behaviour in the area, please contact Basildon Community Policing Team on 101, quoting crime reference 42/142987/19."
