THERE was a crash yesterday morning at North Avenue in Southend.
Two vehicles were involved, at 7:10am, with a "speeding" car slamming into a Volkswagen Golf before hitting a signpost.
A passenger of the Golf, told the Echo that the car had been driving above the limit, before "coming out of nowhere." She said: "We had pulled out of the junction. It just appeared.
"The impact was so large, it through my phone out of the window.
"I was in hospital yesterday. I've got really bad concussion and the whole of my left side was bruised.
"It hit the signpost after failing to avoid us."
It has been reported that the crash is the second one this month to have taken place at the Lonsdale Avenue junction.
Elliot Cone said: "Something needs doing before someone is killed."
