A TEENAGER was rushed to hospital with head injuries after he was attacked by up to six teenagers in Eastwood yesterday.

Police believe the group may have been armed with bottles and a metal pole. Officers also recovered a knife at scene.

Police are now appealing for information and are treating the incident as a targeted attack.

Essex Police received reports on Monday, September 16, that a 17-year-old boy on a bike was attacked by a group of teenagers in Western Approaches at around 9.40pm.

The victim sustained four wounds to his head.

A 19-year-old from Leigh was arrested at around 1.30am today, September 17, on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and he remains in custody.

Police also received information that a silver Ford Fiesta was seen driving from the scene and they would like to hear from anyone who has information or dash cam footage.
