Hundreds of people took to the streets as part of the Basildon Pride celebrations this weekend.

Revellers dressed in all kinds of colour as the parade made its way through town, having set off from outside Toys‘R’Us, on Saturday.

The parade made its way along East Walk, through St Martin’s Square and across Broadmayne before ending in Gloucester Park, where the celebrations continued.

Partygoers of all ages were also able to continue the celebrations into the evening at the after party in the park where there was a whole host of entertainment to mark the occasion.

This included Drag King Joey Bambino, musical theatre choreographer Jake Hunter and Essex Radio presenter Su Harrison.

The event was organised by the Basildon Pride committee and led by the town’s mayor David Burton-Sampson. Mr Burton-Sampson said: “I am so incredibly proud of our Basildon Pride committee for the amazing parade and festival we put on.

“Thank you to all who came and supported us.”
