SOUTHEND United's under 23 boss Craig Fagan has confirmed striker Emile Acquah was showing no signs of distress following his nasty looking injury in this afternoon's 3-1 defeat to Scunthorpe United.
Acquah was treated for close to 10 minuites before being stretchered off with a head injury at Roots Hall.
But Fagan said the teenager was acting normally after the game.
"I haven’t had a chance to speak properly with Emile yet but he’s sat up in the changing room so it doesn’t look too bad," said Fagan.
"I think it was more of a precautionary one. He’s got changed and he looks alright.
"I’m not sure what happened and he might have been caught by an elbow of their smallest midfielder.
"It was a strange one and you hate to see players going off like that but they have to be looked after.
"But he’s OK in there now which is the main thing."
