Thousands of bikers took part in the 20th anniversary Motorcycle Run and Family Fun Day organised by Essex & Herts Air Ambulance (EHAAT) on Sunday.

It is hoped that once all the donations have been received, the event will have raised around £40,000 – enough to fund 18 potentially life-saving missions.

Bikers rode along a 60-mile route from Ford Dunton, in Basildon, to Harwich via the A127, A130, A12 and A120 where they were welcomed by a crowd of hundreds.

Spectators and riders enjoyed an afternoon of family fun, food and great live music.

Emily Donnachie, Events Manager at EHAAT, said: “This event has developed into a really special community day and one of our key fundraising events of the year thanks to the amazing support we receive.

“It was great to see so many people out along the route and at the finish to support everyone. I would also like to thank all our dedicated volunteers and our sponsors, Woodland Group and Swinton Insurance.

“As a charity which receives only limited funding, the money raised by events like this is vital in supporting our work.
