A man was airlifted to hospital in a serious condition after he was stabbed during an incident in a house.
The victim, who is in his 60s had suffered a stab wound to his neck and was to Southmead Hospital in Bristol following the incident in Warminster yesterday morning. His condition was described as stable.
Det Sgt Laura Cook, from Wiltshire Police CID, said: “Our investigation is still at an early stage, but we believe the victim has been stabbed following an altercation with a man who is known to him.
“We are carrying out extensive enquiries to locate our suspect and there is nothing to suggest there is any risk to the wider public.
“We would urge anyone who was in the area this morning and saw anything suspicious, perhaps someone running away from the scene, to get in touch.”
