A HOSPITAL team raised thousands of pounds for a cancer charity.
Ramachandran Ravi, consultant urologist, and his team from Basildon Hospital organised the charity Indian lunch to help raise money for Prostate Cancer UK.
The food was cooked by members of staff and their friends and in total, Mr Ravi and his team raised an £2,000.
Mr Ravi said: “I decided to organise the event for Prostate Cancer UK because we wanted to give back to this worthy cause.
“It is the most common cancer in men and we regularly use the charity’s excellent resources to support our patients diagnosed prostate cancer.
“The team had a great time organising the charity Indian lunch and hope that the funds raised will help stop prostate cancer being a killer.” It was held on June 7 at the hospital.
