CHILDREN enjoyed swashbuckling fun at a woodland centre event.

Essex Wildlife Trusts Belfairs Woodland Centre, Belfairs Woodland Centre, Belfairs Park, Vardon Drive and Eastwood Road North, Leigh welcomed families for the school holiday fun.

There was lots of activities including arts and crafts and other more active fun with swings.

Organisers at the animal charity site said it was a well attended once again.

Greg Borgartz, site manager said it was a great day.

He said: “It all went very well.

“We had about 18 children come down with their parents.

“They all enjoyed the pirate fun in the woods.

“Some of the activities included walking the plank and scaling rope ladders.

“It was all outdoor fun, as one of our aims is to get children more engaged with the outdoors.

“The feedback was great on the day and lots of parents booked for the next event.

“We think that is the feedback that shouts.

“We have loads of different events throughout the holidays and look forward to welcoming lots of children and families.”

The trust educates about and protects wildlife.

The charity trust, founded in 1959, is one of 47 wildlife trusts in the UK.
