FAMILIES and children were whisked into a trip back in time for an Ice Age fun event.

The Royals Shopping Centre, Southend, transformed into a world of Ice Age fun for the event with plenty of fun and activities.

The children had a chance to enjoy a caveman-themed workshop with dancing and musical fun.

The event also gave the children chance to enjoy some fun and messy crafts.

Organisers said it was a well attended event.

The shopping centre is hosting a number of exciting events during the school holidays.

A spokesman for The Royals said: “Our Little Royalty Kids Club, for children aged three to nine-years-old, enjoyed an exploration of the Ice Age.

“It was a completely free event in the shopping centre during the summer holidays.

“Tons of youngsters enjoyed learning the wonders of this mysterious time period.

“We were delighted to be joined by Brazilarte, who carried out a workshop with drumming and caveman dancing.

“The kids had a fabulous day.

“We are also delighted to welcome our new furry friend Rosie - she joins her best friend Ryan The Lion as the centres new mascot.

“Ryan the Lion has been here for 25 years- so it’s about time he had some company.”
