CONCORD Rangers, Great Wakering Rovers and White Ensign continued their preparations for the upcoming season by recording friendly wins.

Danny Scopes' Concord registered a convincing 5-1 victory over Isthmian North side Romford.

Decarrey Sheriff put the Beach Boys ahead, but Romford levelled matters before the break.

However, Concord restored their lead through Lamar Reynolds on the hour mark.

Danny Green fired home soon after, while Sheriff completed his brace two minutes later.

Joel Nouble rounded off the scoring late on.

Meanwhile, Wakering swept Cheshunt aside, running out 3-1 winners at Burroughs Park.

A Jack Stevenson double put Steve Butterworth's Isthmian North side in the ascendancy, with one of the summer signing's efforts coming from the penalty spot.

Tony Martin also converted from 12 yards after the interval, but his afternoon was ended early after being given his marching orders.

Elsewhere, Eastern Counties League Division One South side White Ensign beat Hullbridge Sports 1-0.

Darren Manning's Hullbridge were involved in their first outing since clinching the Essex Senior League title in April.

But they came unstuck against Brett Munyard's White Ensign, who emerged victorious thanks to Luke Skinner finding the back of the net.

But Southend Manor had a day to forget.

Adam Peek's side suffered a 4-0 defeat to Gas Recreation.
