The Essex Tennis Inter-Club Summer Cup Competitions Finals day was held at Thorpe Bay LTC .
And, to the delight of the home club spectators, the top men’s Senior Cup was won by the Thorpe Bay pairings of Rob Carter & Marshall Tutu and Harry Randle & David Wright, who defeated Connaught 1 3-1.
Further success for the home club was provided by the Thorpe Bay Ladies team of Sara Needham & Nyah Kaunders and Jade Gooding & Susie Staunton, who defeated Connaught III to win the Ladies Intermediate Cup 4-0.
In the Men’s Intermediate Cup Final, the Hockley team of Adam Paterson & Daniel Vowels and Andrew Bickell & Kevin Eley lost 4-0 against Cranston Park 1.
Elsewhere, the Ladies Senior Cup was won for the third time in succession by Connaught 1 as they defeated Essex Golf & Country Club 4-0.
The men’s Junior Division I Cup was won by Connaught III, who defeated Whitehall 3-1.
The men’s Junior Division II Cup was clinched by Grove (Saffron Walden), who defeated Writtle 3-1.
The ladies Junior Cup was won by Danbury as they beat Great Baddow 4-0.
