POPULAR former Southend United striker Barry Corr has been given a coaching role at Cambridge United.
The 34-year-old finished his playing career at the U’s last season.
And the Irishman is now looking forward to the next chapter after being named as a development coach at the Abbey Stadiun.
"I’m delighted to be back at the club and excited about taking on this new role,” Corr told Cambridge’s official website.
“Having initially started my coaching badges over eight years ago, completing them last year with my UEFA A licence as well as studying for a degree in psychology during that time - it feels like a culmination of all that work to reach this stage.
“I hope to add value to the club’s excellent group of coaching staff across both the first team and academy and look forward to working with Cambridge United’s talented young players.”
Corr scored 63 goals in 131 starts for the Shrimpers and helped the club win promotion via the League Two play-offs in 2015.
