JOHN White has signed a new contract at Southend United.
White, who has been with Blues on a permanent basis since 2013, has signed a one year extension at Roots Hall with the option of a further 12 months.
The 32-year-old is the now the club’s longest serving player and has made 229 appearances for the Shrimpers.
White captained Blues in their League Two play-off winning final against Wycombe Wanderers at Wembley back in 2015 and also scored on the final day of last season as Southend beat Sunderland 2-1 to stay in League One.
The defender also broke his arm against the Black Cats but is now fit to play.
