GARY Waddock and Stetoslav Todorov will be part of Kevin Bond’s backroom team at Southend United next season.

Former Aldershot Town and Wycombe Wanderers boss Waddock will be assistant manager at Roots Hall while ex Portsmouth striker Todorov will be first team coach.

And Bond is delighted to have the duo on board.

“They’re two really positive, upbeat people who will be great on the days that I might come in miserable,” said Bond.

"It’s just what we need.

“Both are excellent at their jobs, good coaches and really enthusiastic so will bring a lot to the football club and I couldn’t be more pleased to have them on board.”

Waddock has also bossed Oxford United and Portsmouth but will now be working with Bond for the first time.

"I’ve not worked with Gary before but I know him, he’s got a terrific reputation as a person and also as a coach,” said Bond.

“When I had a chat with him it only confirmed what everybody else had said to me.”

However, Bond is fully aware of Todorov’s talents having worked with him at Portsmouth.

"Toddy I’ve known for a long time and he’s a really cracking guy who’s enthusiastic,” said Bind.

"They're both driven, as am I, and that’s exactly what we need going forward for the football club.

"We’ll all coach. I like to coach, so I think we’ll all do our share of it and feed off each other.

"They’ve got their own ideas which is what I want and we’ll learn from each other and hopefully improve and evolve as time goes by."
