'Attack' - Janine Justin, 47, admitted her role in an incident which also saw five officers doused in petrol on May 5 this year

The events unfolded after officers followed a stolen bike from a vigil on Canvey.

Essex Police has since secured a closure order on her home after a string of antisocial behaviour offences.

The Basildon community policing team worked with partners at Basildon Council to address behaviour involving tenants at the property in Ward Close, Laindon.

On June 3, following a hearing at Basildon Magistrates’ Court, a three-month closure order was granted by the court.

The tenant, Janine Justin, and those living with her, have also been immediately evicted and are unable to return to the property.

Sgt Rob Maile of the Basildon community policing team said: “We will always act on concerns raised by the community in relation to reports of anti-social behaviour. It is a type of offence that hugely impacts on the quality of life of residents and we are only too aware of that and do all we can, working with partners, to tackle these issues.”

Councillor Andrew Gordon, Basildon Council’s vice chairman of the housing and communities committee, added: “Our antisocial behaviour team works closely with Essex Police to tackle individuals intent on affecting other residents peaceful enjoyment of their homes.

“Whilst this action is not taken lightly, it is considered necessary following historic antisocial behaviour. I hope this action highlights our commitment to helping keep our borough safe.”

Janine Justin admitted one count of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place on the basis “that she didn’t threaten anyone”. She was bailed and will be sentenced at Basildon Crown Court next month. A man has been accused of throwing petrol on police officers. A 17-year-old boy has been charged with driving offences and is awaiting a further hearing.
