Drivers are facing long delays on the A12 this evening following a crash between four vehicles.
Traffic on the northbound stretch has come to a standstill following the crash, which happened between junction 22 at Witham and junction 23 at Kelvedon sometime around 4pm.
Both lanes have now been closed and traffic is building as far back as junction 20 at Hatfield Peverel.
There is also a lane closed on the southbound carriageway due to central reservation damage from the accident.
