A FLOCK of birds swooped into Colchester for a series of educational events which really took flight.
The Go Live! Birds of Prey experiences took place at the town’s Natural History Museum last week and saw eagles, owls and falcons - which are renowned for their instinctive kills, sharp talons and scissoring beaks - amaze the packed room.
During the interactive sessions, experts from Eden Falconry, a family-run business which specialises in conducting informative and enthralling demonstrations about the often-elusive creatures, also explored the capabilities and traits of the fascinating flyers.
A Colchester Council spokesman said: “We were delighted to host three sold-out sessions at the Natural History Museum, for our Go Live! Birds of Prey event.
“More than 150 people booked for the unique opportunity to get up close and personal with owls, falcons and eagles.
‘‘The wildlife professionals from Eden Falconry demonstrated the skills and abilities of these amazing predators in fun sessions that inspired old and young alike and they gave a wonderful insight into the natural world.’’
