A main road has been completely closed by police officers after a crash near a pedestrian crossing in Rayleigh.
Websters Way has been completely blocked near the junction with Eastwood Road as emergency services deal with the crash.
Both First Buses and Arriva Buses have confirmed services are being diverted while the road closure is in place.
First Buses confirmed the closure on Twitter and revealed that services were being re-routed due to the crash.
Their tweet reads: "Due to an RTC on Websters Way, this road is now closed. The 25 toward Southend will now be unable to serve Rayleigh high street. It will now turn right at Crown Hill and then left on Eastwood road."
Arriva Essex said: "Southend Services are currently being delayed in Rayleigh due to an accident in Websters Way. We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause."
It is believed someone may have been injured near the crossing but the nature of the incident is not known at this time.
Essex Police and the East of England Ambulance Service have both been contacted for comment.
