CONCORD Rangers were made to pay for missed opportunities as they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Oxford City.
Brandon Thomas-Asante grabbed what proved to be the only goal of the National League South encounter as the Beach Boys were consigned to their third home loss of the campaign.
And Concord first team coach Darren Beale felt the hosts were guilty of a poor second half display.
Beale said: "We were disappointed because we put in a good first half performance. We were on top and it was another game where we created a couple of chances.
"Joan Luque had a one-on-one with the goalkeeper but didn't take it and goals change games.
"We were flat in the second half and we can't put our finger on why. It was a bad day at the office."
Luque was kept out by Oxford goalkeeper Craig King midway through the first half.
And Thomas-Asante scored what proved to be the winner nine minutes after the interval to frustrate the hosts at the Aspect Arena.
