A POPULAR beach hotel restaurant has been awarded with its second AA rosette.

The Roslin Beach Hotel, at Thorpe Esplanade, in Southend, gained its second AA rosette as part of the AA culinary excellence scheme.

The fine dining restaurant boasts of floor-to-ceiling windows giving panoramic beach views over Thorpe Bay.

Three AA rosettes are often regarded as the equivalent of a Michelin star.

The second AA Rosette is determined by high standards of flavour and attention to detail and Roslin Beach Hotel has hit the mark with its menu, showcasing fresh, local produce, and quality, seasonal ingredients.

Jacqueline Dallimore, managing director at Roslin Beach Hotel, said: “We are so thrilled to have received our second AA Rosette.

"This award is recognition for the entire team’s continued hard work and I feel incredibly proud of what we have achieved.”

Must-tries from the restaurant's newly launched, spring menu include, seared yellowfin tuna with avocado, radish, pickled mooli and kombu dressing, and Essex saddle and crispy lamb breast with black garlic, Rosanna onion and turnip tops.

Diners can also expect mouth-watering desserts such as, a luxury chocolate sphere with hot chocolate sauce and white chocolate sorbet or a caramelised Roslin bread and butter pudding with warm vanilla sauce, ice cream and apricot pearls.
