A man has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a crash.
The black Vauxhall Astra crashed into a tree in Thorpe Hall Avenue, Thorpe Bay at about 9.05am today.
Firefighters freed the driver, who was trapped.
The man, who is aged in his 40s, was taken to hospital by air ambulance with serious injuries.
Enquiries are ongoing and witnesses who saw the car shortly before the collision are asked to call 101 quoting incident 339 of Saturday 9 February.
