A HEARTBROKEN family is distraught over the disappearance of their five-month-old French mastiff, Blue.

The owners are now offering a reward for his safe return, but don't want to be specific about the amonth of cash.

Communities around Essex have come together to try and locate the pup, since he went missing after a dog walk on private land in Hullbridge, on Saturday, January 19, at 3.30pm.

Posters have been put up in the surrounding areas, and pubs have offered free drinks to anyone with information.

It is said the French mastiff puppy - also known as Dogue de Bordeaux - got "spooked" after a Labrador began barking, resulting in Blue running off along the sea wall by the River Crouch.

Due to the young age of the pup, he currently receives worming treatment daily. If he does not get this, he could become seriously ill.

A Facebook page has been dedicated to the search of the stunning coppery red-coloured pup, who also has a white patch on his chest.

If you have any information or come across Blue, please call his owners on Romy Eloise on 07711903911 or Scott on 07415447863.
