Five people are due to appear in court after being charged with alcohol-related driving offences in the Basildon area.

Tomas Vazgelevicius, 30, of Whytewaters in Vange was arrested near Tesco in Hazelmere, Pitsea, on the evening of Thursday, January 10.

He was charged with being in charge of a vehicle while above the alcohol limit and is due to appear at Basildon Magistrates' Court on February 11.

Sarah Avison, 35, of Denver Drive, Pitsea, was arrested in Plumleys, Pitsea, in the early hours of Saturday, December 12 and charged with drink-driving and driving other than in accordance with a licence. She is due to appear at Basildon Magistrates' Court on February 11.

Alin-Iulian Matei, 20, of Cheshunts, Pitsea, was arrested in London Road, Pitsea, in the early hours of Sunday, January 13.

He was charged with failing to provide a specimen of breath and is due to appear at Basildon Magistrates' Court on February 11.

And two men were arrested at the Festival Leisure Park in Basildon in the early hours of Sunday, January 13 for drink-driving.

Daniel Gacioch, 28, of Freshwater Drive, Vange, and Jan Stopka, 26, of Honeypot Lane, Basildon, and were both charged.

Gacioch is due to appear at Basildon Magistrates' Court on February 11 and Stopka is due to appear at the same court on February 2.
