Southend Leisure and Tennis Centre is currently closed to the public.
It is currently unclear why the closure is in place, but it is said to be closed 'until further notice'.

No-one answered the phone when the Echo called the leisure centre.
Southend Council has been contacted for comment.
Update 12.50pm
Southend Council has confirmed the closure is due to a faulty fire alarm system and the centre cannot be open without a working fire alarm.
An engineer is on their way to the centre to look at the problem.
Update 4pm
Southend Leisure and Tennis Centre has confirmed it has reopened at 4pm.
