A FOOD store in Canvey was robbed at knifepoint.
Police were called after a man came into the Co-Op store in Canvey Road and threatened a worker and told him he had a knife.
The man ran off up Edith Road with a two-figure sum of cash. No one was injured.
A police spokesman said: “The man has been described as being white, aged in his 20s, of a slim build and wore a dark coloured Nike jacket and grey Nike trousers. He also had his hood up.
“We would like to hear from anyone who noticed anyone acting suspiciously before or after the incident.
“We would also urge anyone with CCTV or dash cam footage to call Canvey police station on 101 quoting crime reference 42/166187/18.”
