A rotary club has helped out respiratory patients this winter with additional equipment for the wards at Basildon Hospital.
The Brentwood a Becket Rotary Club donated six nebulisers - devices used to administer medication in the form of a mist to the lungs - to Florence Nightingale and Marjorie Warren wards at Basildon Hospital, with two going to Orsett Hospital.
Greg Roberts, chairman of the community service and vocational committee, said: “We always try to give money to something specific and try to give locally and the cause is often something close to our hearts.”
Dr Dipak Mukherjee, respiratory consultant, said: “These extra nebulisers will be very useful.”
