A LOCAL SWIM SCHOOL has finalised for a national award in the Swim England National Swim School of the Year category.

Chosen out of swim schools from across the UK, Aqua Aims Swim School is a local private swim school. It is owned and run by mother and son duo, Carol Fowler and Brad Fowler, 24, from Thundersley.

Currently, the school is in partnership with Lee Chapel School, The Knares, in Basildon, which is their main pool location. Their swim school partnership has helped to build and run a 1.6m swimming pool at Lee Chapel. Joint owner, Carol Fowler, said: "It's been amazing helping thousands of local children and adults to learn to swim or get back into the pool after many years of being too scared to try."

The school offers classes seven days a week, suitable for people from age 3 months to 78 years old. They have teachers and lifeguards who are at the classes.

Aqua Aims Swim School also currently teaches throughout Essex, including at Earls Hall School, Southend, James Hornsby School, Laindon, and Quilters School, Billericay.

Winners of the award will be chosen by Swim England and announced on November 10th in Birmingham.

Joint owner, Carol Fowler, added: "This is an amazing achievement for a local family run Swim School based in Essex. To be one of two swim schools chosen by Swim England from around the UK is a real big achievement."
