KIND-hearted pupils have raised £200 for charity with a non-school uniform day.

The student council at Cornelius Vermuyden School, Canvey, organised the event to raise money for the Danny Green Fund.

The charity, set up in memory of island youngster Danny Green, supports children suffering from Posterior Fossa Syndrome following brain tumour surgery, and funds research into the condition.

The school’s student council decided to raise money for the charity as they felt passionate about the work it does to help children.

The non-uniform event proved successful, raising £272 for the charity.

The cheque was presented to Lisa Green, Danny’s mother, who set up the charity with her husband Chris.

The student council has said it will look to raise more money for the charity and others during the school year. Visit: thedannygreenfund.org.uk
