Police have confirmed the post mortem to determine the cause of death of a homeless man whose bones were found in Rochford was inconclusive.
Last month, Essex Police confirmed they are investigating the death of a homeless man after a skull was found in woodland off Shopland Road, Rochford.
Police were able to analyse DNA evidence from the skull and identified that it belonged to a homeless man who had previously gone missing.
The skull was discovered in December last year and is the same site where more body parts were found on Sunday, August 19.
Forensic investigators were on scene from Sunday until late yesterday afternoon examining the scene and collecting evidence.
While it is believed they are linked, investigators have yet to confirm whether these body parts belong to the same person as the skull.
A post mortem was carried out but proved inconclusive and further testing is needed to determine the cause of death.
