PAUL Konchesky has departed East Thurrock United after making just five appearances for the National League South club.

The former England international full-back joined Rocks as a player-coach during the summer.

But Konchesky confirmed he has left Rookery Hill by taking to Instagram.

Alongside two photos which shows him in East Thurrock colours, Konchesky wrote: “Just want to wish everyone involved at East Thurrock United all the best for the rest of the season!

“I leave the club by mutual consent! Good luck to the boys.”

The ex-Billericay Town captain’s final appearance came in the 1-0 defeat to Gloucester City at the weekend, where Konchesky was sent off.

Konchesky, who agreed to link-up with John Coventry’s side following a chance encounter with Rocks’ Lee Burns while on holiday, was dismissed after clashing with Gloucester’s Joe Parker just past the hour mark.

East Thurrock remain without a point this season and are rooted to the bottom of the National League South.
