NOMINATIONS are being sought for an annual health awards scheme.

The Mid Essex Clinical Commissioning Group is hosting the third Marvels of Mid Awards.

The awards recognised people across Maldon, Braintree and Chelmsford who have made a positive impact on the wellbeing of the community.

Awards up for grabs are: primary care award, volunteer of the year, individual participant of the year, patient participation group of the year and unsung hero.

There are also gongs for the CCG’s Livewell approach including start well, stay well, age well and die well.

Caroline Rassell, Mid Essex CCG accountable officer, said: “The awards are now in their third year and I am always amazed at the number of local people and projects that go the extra mile to help others live well and stay well by taking care of their physical and mental health.

“This year is particularly special because we also celebrate 70 years of the NHS and want to say a huge thanks to staff, patients, volunteers and everyone in the local community for supporting the NHS over the years and helping it to develop and adapt for the future.”

The criteria for each award along with an online nomination can be at http://midessexccg.nhs.uk/get-involved/moma or by contacting the CCG on 01245 459372.

Nominees will be invited to an awards ceremony at the Mid Essex CCG Annual General Meeting on the evening of September 27.

The deadline for nominations is 5pm on Friday, September 7.
