BASILDON Hospital critical care unit nurses have been passing their knowledge and expertise onto two Dutch students.
Lieke Blonk, 22, and Vincent Wenning, 20, are students on a nursing course at Nova College in Haarlem, the Netherlands, and successfully applied for an internship on the Erasmus exchange course.
They were placed at Basildon Hospital and spent 10 weeks on the critical care unit, where they were helped by nurses Carmen Collado-Quesada, Borja Chinchilla-Tavira, Sarah Batin and Raj Murugesan.
Vincent said: “We don’t get the option for a placement on the critical care unit in the Netherlands, so this was a great opportunity.”
